Still Not Sold on Liverpool Front
Despite the blowouts (the most recent being a 7 – 0 rout of Birmingham in the FA Cup, I still can’t help but feel a bit suspect of the Liverpool front line. Specifically, Peter Crouch. Again, put recent form aside, I can’t understand why he is playing with Liverpool. Even on good days he looks at best average and, at worst, like an uncoordinated goose who can’t seem to control his body. Put me firmly in the anti-Crouch camp.
The other question mark for me is Cisse. Sure, the man is faster than Paris Hilton, but he has never seemed comfortable in Liverpool red and I can’t help but think he might do better somewhere else. General impression I have is that he hasn’t lived up to expectations at Anfield.
So before I start getting excited about Liverpool turning things around (and let’s face it – it was Birmingham, a team staving off relegation), I’ll need to see a bit more from their front line. If Crouch can deliver in the big games like he has in the past few, maybe my opinion of him will change. But for now, I’m skeptical.
