Ljungberg’s Pain

Freddie Ljungberg’s season at Arsenal has been a pretty muted affair. Scoring just 2 goals, the Swedish midfielder has looked less than his dangerous self. Injuries are taking their toll on the 29 year old (he is something of a medical miracle when you consider he plays though migraines and has had injuries to his hip, calf, shoulder, rib, hand and toe).

I suspect that Ljungberg won’t play much of a role for Sweden considering that his foot is so bad that medical staff are required to drain blood from it after every match. Despite his instance that he will play through the pain, the Swedish national team medical staff say otherwise.
