Just Go Already
Man, could somebody please put a gun to the Ruud deal and end our misery already? This thing has been dragging on so long that you have to wonder if there isn’t more than just money holding up the deal – is this Ferguson’s finger in the face of Van Nistelrooy for his off field behaviour?
Sure, Shevchenko went for a stupid amount of money (a deal Ferguson seems to be using as a baseline for Van Nistelrooy), but that deal was with Chelsea and not the real world. Van Nistelrooy, while certainly a premier striker, comes with his own special set of needs and challenges. 12 million seems like a fair deal all around. TAKE THE MONEY, ALEX, and spare us all the anguish of having to follow this little soap opera any longer.
