Gunners comeback…again

Up until the Senderos sending off, the Boro – Arsenal game had been a typical ho-hum affair. Boro is one of those teams that I am totally indifferent to and, if I would have missed this game, I wouldn’t have shed a tear. And, even though Boro have had a good run since Christmas and nothing is certain in the Prem, I was expecting the Gunners to come away from Boro with point(s). What I wasn’t expecting to see was such official incompetence.

Viduka should have been sent off for the elbow to Toure’s face in the first half, Senderos was clearly outside the box when the penalty occurred, and just so you know I’m being fair and balanced, Lehmann was out of the box when he played the ball that set up the goal. Oh, just for the record, as much of a loose cannon as Lehmann is, I hope Wenger can keep him. Today he made some fantastic saves.

At any rate, after falling behind in a game for the 18th time this season, another brilliant finish by Thierry Henry saved the day and the Gunners were able to salvage a 1-1 draw and come out of Riverside with a point.

So, with both Gallas and Senderos out, it looks like Johan Djourou will get a chance to strut his stuff for the next few games.
