Will Cesc leave Arsenal?

Some speculation around the blogsphere that Cesc Fabregas isn’t ruling out a move back to Spain, when the time is right. Perhaps the time may be sooner than we might think and barcelona might be the destination.

Let’s look at some facts and speculation. First, the facts.

  1. Fabregas is from Barcelona. It’s his hometown.
  2. He left Barca for Arsenal for the chance to play, a chance he wasn’t getting as a 16 year old in Barcelona. Well, he has certainly proven himself a starter, and one would think that, if he were to go back to Barcelona, he wouldn’t have much of a problem getting time on the pitch.
  3. Fabregas has a Catalan girlfriend. Never underestimate the power of young love.

Now the speculation. All is not well at Barcelona right now and it’s looking like an overhaul is in the works for Barcelona this summer. Frank Rijkaard might be on the move and if the manager goes, other changes are bound to happen.

The most significant change that could happen with regards to Fabregas is the rumor that Deco could be leaving. With Deco gone, that leaves an awfully big hole in Barcelona’s central midfield – a hole that might be the perfect size for a player like Fabregas.
