Never mind player speculation, what about the managers?

Not only is it the crazy season for speculation as to what player is going to end up where, but lately in the EPL the managers are getting their fair share of ink regarding their futures.

Jose Mourinho

The most intense speculation regarding a manager in the EPL these days concerns Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho. Latest news from the Blues chief executive Peter Kenyon is that Mourinho’s status is solid. And why shouldn’t it be? Chelsea is still in the hunt for 4 trophies this year. It could be the glory year Chelsea has been striving towards for the past 3 seasons.

Arsene Wenger

With the recent news out of Arsenal regarding vice-chairman David Dein’s departure, there has been speculation that Arsene Wenger might be contemplating a move as the two had a very close working relationship. It was Dein who brought Wenger to the club. However, Wenger has recently stated that he will honour his current contract with Arsenal, which expires in the summer of 2008. The wildcard here is the status of the sale of Arsenal. If the sale happens, you could see Dein back at Arsenal and the speculation about Wenger would go away.

Rafa Benitez

You only hope that new ownership at Arsenal will be as smooth for Wenger as it has been for Liverpool’s Rafa Benitez. Just in case Reds fans were wondering, Benitez has revealed he is enjoying working under new owners, so expect him to be around for a bit longer.
