Lehmann signs Arsenal deal
Reports from Germany this morning say that Arsenal keeper Jens Lehmann has singed signed a one year deal with the club. The Germany international goalkeeper’s new deal will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2008.
Speculation had Lehmann heading to the Bundesliga to play with Hertha Berlin. But Lehmann wants to play in the Champions League and Hertha currently sit out of qualification for Europe while Arsenal looks like they will qualify.
Lehmann is 37 and had wanted a 2 year deal with the Gunners, but Arsenal’s policy is only to offer one-year deals to players aged over 30.
