Spain names squad for U-20 World Cup
Spain U-20 coach Gines Melendez has named his 21-man squad for the U-20 World Cup. The squad is strong on Spanish first and second division players and as a result, Spain has to be considered one of the tournament favorites and will look to improve on their quarter final exit at the hands of Lionel Messi and (eventual winners) Argentina in 2005.

The squad will spend a week in Madrid for training (June 18-24) before coming to Canada. They will play in Burnaby, British Columbia in Group B against Uruguay, Zambia and Jordan.
