Arsenal news: Gunners face Sparta Prague in Champions qualifying & Adebayor will miss EPL opener

Back to some Arsenal news today. The gunners have drawn Thomas Rosicky’s old team Sparta Prague in the second round qualifying draw for the Champions League. Arsenal’s European season starts on August 14th/15th. This will be the 4th time in 6 years Arsenal will play Sparta with the gunners winning each encounter.

Whether Adebayor will be available for that game or not is still up in the air, but it looks doubtful. He picked up a groin injury in training and will miss the EPL season opener against Fulham on August 12th.

New striker Eduardo da Silva got his work permit, so that formality is out of the way. He celebrated by scoring a goal in the Gunners 2-1 win over Nazio in pre-season play.
