Soccer on Canadian TV

Jen over a Footie Girl has pointed me towards this schedule of all soccer being broadcast this week in Canada. Nice! The page focuses on Premiership, FA Cup, Serie “A” and Champions League – no MLS, France, La Liga or South America, and is usually updated Wednesday night. It also only lists the channels which most people have, so it is not the most comprehensive list, but it will certainly do for my purposes

Looks like I finally get to see an Arsenal game this weekend, and it’s a decent one as well as their tangle with Man City on Sportsent (yes, I know. Hard to believe but this footie fool has yet to pony up for the digital upgrade to my cable package so I can get Setanta. What can I say? The kids need new shoes.) Man City seems to be everybody’s darling team at the moment. We’ll see if Sven and the boys will still be able to claim that come Saturday afternoon.

I’m not sure who the person in Saskatchewan is that puts the TV listing page together, but thanks unknown flatland footie fan.

Oh, if you dig around the site a bit and you’ll also find a good list of ways to watch footie on your PC. And the Spot the Movie Shot in Canada page is pretty funny as well.

Thanks for the link to the TV schedule that will help. I hope they update regularly. Looks like i will get at least two free Liverpool games before the free trial is done.

In keeping with the TV Theme, here is a fun piece I thought you might enjoy on soccer coverage in the US. This comes from the recent LA Galaxy review and speaks pretty well to the level at which soccer is viewed in America.

“ESPN2 showed the game live, but joined it 12 minutes late because of a WNBA playoff game that went to triple overtime.”

Sounds about right to me.
