If Canada is really serious about hosting the World Cup, they have to commit a lot of money to make it a grand and successful event.

The World Cup has such a huge following and if it is presented well, it will raise Canada's standing nternationally.
Germany left a great lasting impression as the host of World Cup 2006 and there is no reason why Canada cannot do even better.

But if there is little support, then it is best to give this event a pass.

Yep, we are lacking for world class stadiums and pitches. Even Commonwealth in Edmonton. In 2018 it'll be, what, 40 yeas old? I'm not an expert on stadiums, but that's starting to get pretty long in the tooth. And you would hate to see a world class event like the WC being played on a Canadian football or baseball field. I would suspect there would have to be some stadium money committed.

Of course that would be great, but if Canada and the US had a joint bid, what would that leave us? Commonwealth Stadium? Because BMO for sure ain't cuttin' it.
