Who the hell is left to play? Arsenal injury woes for FA Cup tie vs ManU

February has to be the toughest month of the schedule for any team playing top flight soccer in Europe. In England, we’ve got the Champions League kicking up again next week, Carling Cup, FA Cup and this year the added stress of the African Nations Cup and Euro qualifying. Oh yeah, then there is the actual league games.

Two tough ties for the Gunners this week…and the injury list is brutal.

Emmanuel Adebayor is probable, but still has a nagging muscle injury which will slow him down. Then we’ve got Alex Song, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Philippe Senderos, Theo Walcott, Manuel Almunia, Abou Diaby, Tomas Rosicky, Robin Van Persie (will he ever play this season?), Denilson and Johan Djourou all out for one reason or another.

Arsene Wenger has gone so far as to say he’s only got 14 outfield players to choose from. Maybe so, but it’s still a pretty good 14. We’ve still got Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini, Gallas, Eduardo and Toure so despite the lack of choice, we should still prevail tomorrow. But still I can’t help but think that February sucks.
