Canada WC qualifying schedule

After dispatching of St. Vincent & Grenadines 7-1 on aggregate, Canada has moved on to the next round of WCQ, which sees us in a tough group with Jamaica, Mexico and Honduras. Canada’s home games have been set for Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton.

No TV broadasts have been announced yet, but if you are anywhere close to these locations on these dates, head on out and catch the games live, especially the Edmonton game as Commonwealth stadium is a tough place to fill when it seats 60,000 and only 10,000 show up. 10,000 at BMO and you can still have some good energy. 10,000 at Commonwealth and the place feels empty.

Here is the full sked:

  • Canada vs Jamaica Wed. August 20th in Toronto, ON
    7:30PM EST
  • Canada vs Honduras Sat. September 6th in Montreal,
    PQ 8:00PM EST
  • Mexico vs Canada Wed. September 10th in Tuxtla
    Gutierrez, Chiappas 9:00PM EST
  • Honduras vs Canada Sat. October 11th TBD
  • Canada vs Mexico Wed. October 15th in Edmonton,
    AB 7:00PM EST
  • Jamaica vs Canada Wed. November 19th TBD

Top 2 finishers in the group move on to joing the other 4 qualifiers from 2 other CONCACAF groups in the hex. Top 3 (maybe 4) teams from the 6 team hex move onto 2010.
