DeRo speaks

Quickly wanted to poiint you to a couple of interesting Canadian soccer tidbits I’ve come across in the past few days.

First, there is an interview with Dwayne DeRosario in the National Post where he has some unkind words about, surprise surprise, the CSA. Here’s a sample:

They are more concerned about trying to make money off the games we play instead of trying to put it in the best situation possible so that we’ll qualify for the World Cup.

And then there is more on the current state of the MNT from Nigel Reed and Bob Irusci on The Fan 590, who had CSA VP Victor Montagliani on their show. He was there to talk about the search for a replacement for Evan Pellerud, the national women’s coach who retired after this years Women’s World Cup. Instead Bob and Nigel grilled him on the state of the Men’s World Cup qualifying and what the future might have in store for the current coach Dale Mitchell.
