Fair point about the MLS not being able to shut down for a month while
the tournament goes on. It would be better for CONCACAF, FIFA and MLS
to sit down and come up with a window that would work for the tourny.

If Canada goes far in the tourney we'd be missing 5 players for a month. That is unacceptable. It has little to do with MLS -- MLS can't shut down for a fricken month in the middle of the season. Even if they wanted to shut down for FIFA dates, they'd have to shut down for the equivalent of 6 weeks over the course of the year. De Ro's served his country well in the past and now it's his time to be selfish and play for his club. I'm glad Harmse is the only current player leaving.
